Oh my god, snowflakes actually take the cliche snowflake shape?!
(Please be measured in any comments to this - I have actually never experienced frost or snow, okay? Go easy on me.)

Snow flakes take on a similar gemeotric shape as they fall. Frost grows from a surface like in this photo. If frost is allowed to grow in the right conditions and will grow upwards.

Frost and snowflakes from 2007-2013
Macro photography is something that I’ve grown to love over the years. I can safely say that reason is because I fell in love with the geometric patterns of frost. It’s crazy how the the month can help change the shape and look of a snow flake.
A great video explaining the formation and reasons behind the changes here.

Oh my god, these pictures are beautiful, Justin!
And yess I love macro photography

Fun fact: The bottom picture in this photo set was taken by a point and shoot at college. It was the moment when I realized I wanted to be a photographer. It was the moment that I realized macro was my thing, that snow and ice were the things that I wanted to photograph.

Nikon D90, Nikkor 50mm 1.8/f, Nikkor 60mm Micro 2.8/f, Tamron 10-24mm 3.5/f wide angle.
Alicia did an outfit change into this awesome number.  I love that downtown Tulsa has this look to it still.  We didn’t get as many photos as we were losing light and it was getting late. I wish we would have switched out outfits a little sooner. Live and learn and sometimes there’s nothing that can be done.
On a last note I need to go back through and see if I missed any others as I browsed through the first time. Alicia brought it to my attention that there is a spot or two missing from our adventure last Sunday.
Once again you can always find the lovely Alicia here.

Alicia always has the best outfits. We were battling allergies but ended up wandering downtown Tulsa for 4 and half hours. She was the leader in this shoot. She had the places picked out and we picked up a few random things along the way. Starting off at The Vault was her idea and I had never been there before. It was a great segway into what I think we were trying to accomplish.
You can find her here. She posts a lot of art deco architecture from downtown Tulsa. She’s pretty awesome.

I’m trying to hold back on posting a bunch of these. I’m ridiculously excited and I’m not that far into editing.
